Maybe you have pulled a muscle without realising? I had a huge cramp in my calf one night and the calf has been really sore now for a few days.

Hope it gets better for you

Is it tender to touch? look red/inflamed? - if yes I would get it checked out, could be a DVT (dont want to scare you)

I get this a lot at the top of both thighs - it's caused by the uterus pressing on a nerve that passes along the top of your pelvic bone. It is absolute agony but apparently there isn't a lot anyone can do about it!! Gets worse for me when baby starts moving around cos he/she is so low down now. Looks like it's just another tick on the annoying pregnancy symptom list!

Same pain!!

Hi Shampain,

Just thought I would reply to your post, and to maybe see if any other ladies are experiencing the same. I am 28 weeks pregnant and from about 12 weeks I have had a severe pain in my lower back on the right hand side, which has recently spread to my thigh and right knee. The pain is so bad that I dread sitting or lying on the sofa at night to watch a little bit of tv and lying in bed is very painful especially if I have to turn from one side to the other. I wont even speak about trying to get up in the morning...that's when my limp is worse!

I have been to the doctors who have said just take paracetamol which I have tried but nothing in the world helps.

Just the other day, I thought I would try and diagnose the problem myself so type all my symptoms etc into the net and SPD came up. After reading about this, I am positive this is what I am experiencing. I still haven't found any cures yet unfortunately!

Hope you feel better soon.

Yvonne x
