Back From Ecv!

Well girls -I went in for my ECV this morning. I don't mind admitting that i didn't sleep much last night & was 'still' bricking it when i went in. Spent an hour on a monitor, then had a scan, then had 2 Doctors try & turn the LO - clockwise AND anti-clockwise but they could only get him halfway round! (They 'say' its mildly uncomfortable but OMG - mildly uncomfortable just doesn't cover it! I was in agony while they were trying it! I now feel really sore & tender around my middle & am really uncomfortable unless i'm sitting still! ) And then they hooked me up to the monitor for another half an hour to check that bubs was ok.
Anyway, the main consultant said that theres no real reason why bubs isn't turning - his buttocks aren't engaged & the placenta is in a good position but it just seems like he's being stubborn.
So...........am booked in for a c-section on the 23rd! OMG! I can't believe its that soon! I still don't really know how i feel about the whole section thing but it looks like its the safest option for bubs! I've gotta go up to the hospital AGAIN on Wednesday for my pre op consult to talk through everything & then in at 7.30am on the 23rd for the section.

The consultant said that everything goes really well i could be out Christmas day afternoon but that means my girls will be spending Christmas Eve & Christmas Day with my parents. (i don't think they mind though) so i'vegot to make sure i get all their pressies wrapped & over to mums next week.
I'm still a bit dazed by it all tbh.

I know! Doesn't seem real. I mean - i know i'm pregnant & having a baby but i hadn't really thought about the 'having another baby thing' if that makes sense.
I'm now only just starting to see past the birth!

Whatever is safest for you and the baby is what's important. I think you're really brave to try the ecv, I would have chickened out. Good luck for your c-section. xxx
