Anyone Had An Ecv????

Hi Gals, been to hospital thismorning for yet another scan! Bubs is STILL in breech though but my fluid level looked fine today.
Spoke at length with the Doctor & am going back in tomorrow to try an ECV to turn him. Supposedly it has a 48% success rate, but 2% of babies get in distress & have to be delivered by c-section then and there.

I was wondering if anyone had experienced an ECV? Fancy sharing your story cos i'm bricking it! Don't know if trying to turn him manually is the right thing. The doc said that if it doesn't work then i'll be booked in for a c-section on the 23rd December!

I haven't had any experience of this at all hun but good luck whatever happens and I hope it works for you.

I found out at my last appt that bubs is breech but they're not too concerned about it as he has time to move round I think.

Good luck hope everything goes ok xxxxx

There was a thread on here recently about them, as I think a couple of ladies have had them. I'll try and find it

Hey Mrs Shine, been having a search on the site & have read most of the ECV related threads - but thanks for searching for me.
I'm actually really worried that i may not be doing the right thing having one now. Everyone seems to think its an awful procedure.

I did seem to remember people saying they didn't work. Whatever you decide will be the right decision for you.
I've thought about it too as I've been told because of the shape of my uterus then I'm more likely to have a breech baby. I think I'd want to try as I'd prefer to have vaginal birth than a caeserean if I can help it.
Fingers crossed for you tomorrow xx

I'm still not entirely sure i want the procedure done. It sounds bloody awful if i'm honest - & although i've said all the way through my pregnancy that i DON'T want a c-section, it sounds like the safer option to me.
I just don't know what to do.
