Has Anyone Else Expressed Milk Successfully Or Are They Planning On Expressing??

I really want to give this baby the best start I can, and as shes going to be my last ive decided to give her my breastmilk, however I cannot breastfeed directly as it will be too stressful for me.

We have a very busy house with four other children and family always popping in and out, it will also stop anyone else being able to help me out etc whilst I do things with the other children, so I have decided to express, but have heard that lots of women have real trouble doing this successfully.

Is anyone else planning to do this or done this??

I fed my LO expressed milk for 10 weeks as I found it too sore to BF. I didnt have any problems at all expressing and had plenty milk but everyone is different and others find it not so easy. It does take up a fair bit of time though.

To be honest breastfeeding directly is the less stressful way as it is more successful that expressing alone. You can feed discreetly, just pull your top down to baby's nose...that's what I always do. In fact I'd be mortified if I thought people could actually see anything when I'm feeding.

By all means express as well but for it to be successful I would definitely recommend combining with direct feeding as baby is much more efficient at gettng the milk that a breastpump or expressing by hand...you also have that special closeness which is amazing. I have done breastmates training to help local mummies breastfeed successfully so I'm talking from experience as well as training I have been given too.

I usually express as well as breastfeed directly and must admit that expressing can be time consuming too...even more so with a busy family

If I can help you further please pm me as I don't wann look "pushy" IYKWIM....I just wanna help if I can babe
