It hurts to open and close my jaw and it hurts to chew or eat! my dentist said they want to pull them but i have to wait untill allison arrives |

| Mum (Mom) Chat Happy BnB Member  Join Date: Jun 2008 Location: My own world Posts: 1,156 | Hi Sammie, sounds like a classic case of pericoronitis, which is the infection and inflammation of the gum overlying the partially erupted wisdom tooth. You need to keep the area very clean with either corsodyl mouthwash or warm salty water used throughout the day. Have you been given a course of antibiotics? For a wisdom tooth extraction, dentists must follow the NICE guidelines, which suggest if this is your first episode of pain like this then the infection is best treated and extraction delayed, however, if this is a recurrent problem I personally would take it out.  You have my sympathy hunny xxx |
