Post Natal Exercises?

Ok, for those of us who are due/overdue you might think this thread is a piss take!!!!...so sorry!

Just wandered when people were going to start exercising after giving birth?

Also what exercises are you going to do to get your pre-pregnancy figure back?......my figure wasnt perfect before hand but ive gotta try!

I know there the obvious ones like walking, pelvic floor exercises, working on abdominal muscles and you can do these afew days after a normal delivery.

But what else are people planning on doing and how soon afterwards?

nah its a good question really. I don't know, just gonna c how i'm feeling after the event and when i feel upto activities. Probably once i've healed and begun a routine (i'm guessing that be after 6 weeks) i'll start something properly. They do a post natal exercise class here and u can take your LO along so might give that a go!

Well i still have me gym membership. Right now i go swimming at least 3 times a week. But due to bleeding this will be out of the question until that stops.

So im planning on starting light exercise straight away. Because i have 2 dogs they need walking twice a day. which right now i do once a day and OH does the other. But i will be doing both walks and taking baba too for some fresh air on the day time one. And then leaving baba with OH while i do the night time one.

OH has said i can have 2-3 nights a week to go the gym and get some ME time, we used to go together but now we will just go alternatively and also my Dad has said he will watch baba one night a week or a sat or sunday afternoon so i can have me time and go the gym or to get me hair done with me mum etc some girly time.

As much as i wont wanna leave baba im going back to work in janurary so will have to force myself to do this just to get used to the sepreation otherwise im SCREWED for jan.

So some light exercises up until my 6 week check up. then i will step it up a gear and hopefully manage 4 times at the gym which i used to fo pre pregnancy. I also looked into a kick boxing class. That OH is more than happy for me to go to get back into shape. And once i get back to my goal weight which will take a few months. I dont need to do it so intensely i just need to keep a steady level of activity to mantain it like i did pre pregnancy../..

Ok rambling now XxX

I'm planning on breast feeding everyone in a 5 mile radius and then joining weightwatchers at the earliest oppertunity!!! The only exercise I'll be doing is pelvic floor and walking....going to the gym is against my religion...

As I was told it would take 4-6 weeks til I was properly healed so I'm just doing gentle exercises, going for walks every day and obviously pelvic floor etc..

When i'm fully healed, I plan on buying a flexi bar thing that vibrates and tones certain parts of your body depending on how/where you hold it

Think i'm going to keep walking everyday and mucking out stables and as soon as its possible getting back on the horse. Soon as i do that the weight will just fall off i am determined... also breastfeeding. I couldnt arse myself to go to the gym too far to drive would take up half my day, and there is NO way anyone is getting me running!!
