Birth Plan

I'm going to make my birth plan if I can ever get around to it!! What does yours look like?

So far I have:
Absolutely NOT birthing on my back
No epidural but I'll have other drugs that allow me to walk
I'm labouring down and if they don't like it they can get out

Thats about it so far. I don't know what else to put, a lot of what I see on the generated birth plans seems unnecessary

I've PM'd mine to you.

I started with a couple of bits and then it just came together - TBH I wasnt going to do one after my first experience i.e. it went out the window!!! But I'm a little more determind for things to go my way this time. x

I didn't want to birth on my back either but at the time it was the only way I felt comfy! Birth plans are good but keep an open mind. Not long for you now, huh? Good luck!

Just a tip Rae, my MW said to try to word things positively so for example

ie would like to birth on all fours, squatting etc

rather than

I dont want to birth on my back.

It makes them easier to follow and apparently pisses of the midwife less!

I have included where and how i want to labour and deliver, pain relief preferences, who I want there and also added in about not wanting to be continually monitored or told how dilated I am.

Good luck!

I have included that I wish for the cord to be cut once it has stopped pulsating and DH to be asked if he wished to do it. I wish to have skin to skin contact once LO is born.

I have asked that they keep DH with me at all times (just encase they try to evict him for any reason).

How I wish to feed the baby. I do not wish to be cut or have an epidural unless absolutely necessary and that I wish to stay as active as possible.

The rest just came together.

Oh I also stated I realise all this might go out the window in which case I'll go with the flow (words to that effect) and that as long as supervised and mine or LO's care will not be in any compramising situations I am quite happy for any students midwifes or doctors to help with our care.

My m/w had a quick look at mine last week and said all they really want to know is whether you're planning on having the vit k jab, and whether you want an assisted or natural third stage (placenta delivery).

And there was me laminating and putting diagrams and everything
