Help!! Labour starting....???? (a bit long)

Hi - just had a couple of weird days and thought I'd check if anyone else has experienced this.

On Tuesday, I woke up with massive pain and cramping in abdomen and it continued on and off. In addition to this I had diarrhea. So, I of course flew into action and finished packing my stuff in the hospital bag (I'd only done the baby stuff to that point) and then took a warm shower and tried to relax. It went away after a couple of hours.

Wednesday and Thursday were normal days - uncomfortable but normal. MW on appointment on Thursday - everything fine.

Yesterday, I had the same as Tuesday starting at about 5:30 - 6:00 AM. However, in addition to the diarrhea, I was also not keeping any food down as well. The pains were irregular and not long in duration but they only subsided at about 15:00 in the afternoon. Last night I was restless and didn't really sleep at all. In addition, throughout the night when I went to the bathroom, I had a bit of blood as well each time.

I called my MW and she said that this could be the 'start' of things and went over again some of the signs when I need to go to the hospital, etc. Timing of contractions, if broken waters are dirty, etc.

I'm pretty sure that my waters have not broken.

My questions:

1) How often should I feel the baby now? I know that normally it should be 5-10 times a day but will the baby become quiet in pre-full labour?

2) My official due date is 30 September so it's a bit early - has anyone else had these and it continued the full time or did you actually go into early delivery. After yesterday, I don't think I want to experience that again every other day for the next 2 weeks. I'd probably kill someone.

3) How can I tell if my waters are broken but they don't do the gushing thing?

4) Is it normal that my belly just feels tight all the time now but not really contracting?

I appreciate the help! I had my MIL just come over and keep me company yesterday while we timed the contractions and she distracted me and helped but now that I'm 'rational' again today, I thought I'd check here and see what everyone thought!

Btw - today, I feel uncomfortable but normal again... No contracting

Thanks!!

It does sound like the start of things hun.

I think its normal for the baby to be a bit quieter but if you notice a dramatic difference I'd get it checked - my MW is a big one for that. You know your baby so trust your instinct on that.

Trust me on the waters - you'll know. Mine just tore at first and an easy way to tell is to do pelvic floor exercises. You can stop wee coming out but not your waters!! Put a pad on and after an hour see how wet it is and does it smell. Waters are generally clear and dont smell - wee smells. If you are wetting a pad an hour they are leaking for sure

My belly is tight most of the time now - BH's I'd say.

All sounds pretty normal and I think things sound to be moving in the right direction for you!!

Didn't want to read and run Sounds like early labour to me, but I haven't experienced any of your symptoms (yet) so can't advise...some of the other girls have been having similar symptoms and will be able to help more.

Hope you feel a bit better today

xx

Hi there!

I am in the same boat as you. I have had pretty much the exact same days as you, except the past 2 days I have had nothing just the hard stomach.

I hope things move along quickly for you and that you aren't too uncomfortable until they do
