Insomnia (grrr) anyone else??

I've always been one of those people who sleeps like a log from the minute my head hits the pillow until recently that is

I used to sleep for at least 8 hours a night and TBH it was more like 10 and could never get my head around why people couldn't sleep well.

But now, my god I'm lucky if I sleep solidly past 4:30 am (which is when I woke up this morning). I just tossed and turned for over an hour until I'm eventually like sod it I might as well get up and nap later, but my god I'm shattered

I reckon it must be my body getting me into training or something as I expect 10 hour nights in bed are (another) thing of my past

xx

I've woken up at 3:15am for the past 4 mornings! This morning i've had a lie in till 5:15am!!
Think its definatley your bodies way of preparing you for less sleep.

Hi Bluebell, sorry you're not sleeping, you must be pooped
I guess it must be quite tricky getting comfortable towards the end too...

I've been having trouble sleeping for the past couple of weeks but I'm pretty sure that's due to anxiety. I mentioned it to the midwife yesterday and she suggested a warm bath & a hot milky drink before bedtime... Do you think that might help you?

I'm with you all the way! I have been having terrible trouble nodding off and staying asleep, which often results in me having to sleep in the afternoon, which causes more problems sleeping at night...it's a viscious circle.

I am really concerned about my sleeping patterns now. They are completely messed up since I finished work! Lord knows what I'll be like when the baby comes!

I don't think it's a good idea to lie there and fret about not being able to sleep though. Much better to get up and have a cup of tea and a read and hope for the best.

Hope it improves for you.

Yup... another insomniac here... about the last week it has started, I get the urge to do house work in the late evening so usually do that until like 12 or 1 am... haha... and then me and my oh sit in his fish room and chat for awhile...

Then we are up at 8-9 am!

And this doesn't include the nightly trips to the bathroom.

OMG, isn't it awful??!!! I haven't slept for about 10 nights on the trot now. I wake up at about 1-1.30, then don't get back to slepp for hours. Normally just in time to be woken up by my alarm clock!!
Starting to get really grumpy as still doing shift work full time too. On my feet all day and I'm starting to get really tired. Roll on mat leave in 2 weeks!!!
