I know it is customery in the USA but brits did you hold one?

Ive never liked holding parties for myself I always feel too cheeky

I didn't have one....and I don't know anyone who has. Its not the norm over here to have a baby shower but some people have started because of American influence....

Yes, work are holding me one in October. They wouldn't takeno for an answer, but I'm really looking forward to it now!!!
They're not doing it like an traditional American one - it's more like an excuse for the girls to say a quick goodbye to me. We just held one for a colleague and all we did was get together, eat lots of food and chat all night. There wasn't tonnes pf presents - they did a small hamper and gave the rest of the money in vouchers, so that she could choose the things she wanted.

It's just a freind from back home in the uk is 36 weeks and she has just been raving about hers. (She dosent know im pg yet).

Urmm no not for me. We're having a tea party after baby is born with just a few friends and family to say hello to babba! Nothing major. Id hate people to buy loads of things Id feel terrible!

Yeh, work organised one when I left. I was dreading it, thought it'd be really cheesy but it was nice and they bought almost everything i needed for baby. I felt so embarrassed and spoilt. I would be mortified organising one for myself. I know what you mean.... Maybe your friends will surprise you? x
