On the instruction booklet i got with my digital room thermometer it says.... If room is at recommended temp (16-20) Bedding: sheet & two lightweight blankets Clothing: Nappy, vest & sleepsuit. If its too cold add more, If its warmer take away! Also my midwife told me to feel babys temp the best place is there chest with your hand.. not there hands and anywhere else. If that helps you Have you thought about getting one of those sleeping bag things the baby can go in? so they dont kick covers off or pull them over their face ?

Im not sure if you NEED to put sheets in the pram or not..& im not sure about the breast pump either.

My midwife told me aswell.. baby does not need a hat when you are inside. If you go out obviously put a hat on but if you go into someone elses house or lets say a shopping centre, take the hat off and maybe make sure they dont have too many blankets on.. then put them back on when you go back outside!

& my moses basket doesnt rock, I didnt even think about getting a rocking one to be honest. I suppose thats upto you! Cant do any harm to get a rocking stand though if you like

I'm Currently Feeling:

Personally i would go for a moses basket stand that stood still, i got a rocking one with my 1st and ended up actually buying another that stood still as i felt it wasnt safe it just kept like teeter-tottering like the basket wasnt quite stable if u get what i mean. Altho i guess it depends on what basket and stand u get and whether u feel its stable enuff!

As for the breastpump id get a electric one as they work better. Aslong as u position it right it does it all itself lol whereas a manual keeps loosing the right position/suck ect. However saying that it all depends again on personal preference. My son was bf til he was 2 1/2 and not once could i express enuff to feed him via a bottle. None would 'work' proper and i only ever ended up with a couple of oz but he fed himself for the 2 1/2 years with no bother weird ay!

As for the temperature id get rid of the temp gauges and follow your instincts. As a young (i was 17 when i had my son ) single mom i was sooooo strict about following the 'rules' but found if you look at what says is the 'right' or 'ideal' temp its pretty cold! Even with blankies etc the air was chilly if u get me soo i mentioned it to my mw and she said 'follow your instincts and alway put one more layer on your baby than you would urself' sooo if u r wearing a t-shirt put the baby in a baby vest and baby grow, if your wearing a tshirt and jumper put babe in vest, baby grow and cardi. As for hats you only really need them if your going out NEVER put ur baby to bed in one (dont quote me but im sure i read somewhere by putting your baby to bed with a hat on increases the chances of sids) as the baby can possibly overheat as if they get too hot they cant loose any of it through their head which theyre meant to do. I never worried about going in and out of shops etc but if i ever went into the house the hat would come off and go on as soon as we walked out the door again. Youll 'know' if your babys too hot or cold tho it just kicks in and u 'know' so dont worry lol The best way to see if ur babys too hot or cold tho is to stick a couple of your fingers down its clothes onto its chest and feel there. Your babies face/hands/feets etc could feel chilly to u but really theyre fine and by adding more layers of clothes ud overheat babe lol.
