36 Weeks Midwife Appt!

Hi Ladies, i'm going a bit mad and posting lots today!

I just wondered, what happens at your 36 week appointment? I read that the midwife checks if your cervix is thinning or dilated at all? Does this happen everywhere? If so, does it hurt? Im quite scared

My midwife wont go near my cervix, I keep asking her but still she refuses to even check until I'm overdue... So don't think its everywhere.

Have you done your birth plan? its usually around 36weeks that you go through that with your midwife.

Yeah my birth plan was pretty straight forward to... basically says I wanna go in, have the baby and go home... Says if I want an epi that's fine but don't go jabbing needles and drugs into me without asking first.

Keep it dead simple cuz things could drastically change and then it goes out the window anyway lol

nah they won't go in 'there' they won't do an internal unless absolutly necessary because of the risk of infection. Its just the usual ask how u r, blood pressure and measurements.

As for birth plans, still not done mine. we don't do them with the mw, they tell us to do it at home but tbh theres not much point in bothering because they change. I know what i want though and so does OH.

good luck at your appt

Yeah I didn't do my birth plan with midwife either, did it myself and then just showed her it and she checked it over to make sure I hadn't asked for something that wouldn't coincide with how my pregnancy was going etc...

Like people with high risk births shouldn't really request on no uncertain terms a c-section and all that. Dead simple really...

Agree that its a bit pointless really unless there is something that you feel particularly strongly against or something like that.
