Is this anything?

Ok, I'm a neurotic first time mum! I'm due October 26th, which makes me 34 + 1, so I know it's unlikely, but not unheard of, for this to be anything.

But...

I woke this morning with lower back pain, and lower stomach pain - kinda like period pain. It's constant not contraction like, but it's the first time I've experienced anything like this whilst pregnant. I've had back pain - but this feels more like period pain than true back pain!

What do you think? Anything or nothing. I'm sat at work at the mo, so as much as I'd happily have the baby today (assuming she's well and okay!) I don't fancy going into labour in the middle of the office. Especially as I'm the first aider!

Aaargghh!

Thanks

Not really sure hun, as this is my 1st pregnancy. It could just be late growing/stretching pains. But if it's a pain you've not had before during the pregnancy, and it lingers, then maybe give your midwife a quick call to see what they say? Hope all is ok.
xx

I'm not too sure hon as I am a first timer too, but maybe just baby getting ready to make apperance.

I've had a bad backache for the last three days, which I don't normally get but just assumed it's things moving and making progress come the day. x

I'd be tempted to ring the midwife to put your mind at rest, I didn't get the period type pains until after the baby was here

Smile

This is my third pregnancy and tbh they are all different, I am 27 weeks and am suffering terribly with back pain, so it makes no difference that it is your first you are taking notice of your body which is awesome and you know better than anyone.

It could be the start of slow labour, your body getting you ready for the main event.

It is likely if you are having the pain lower down that the baby has dropped and is sitting on your lower back and pelvis. Take some paracetamol and have regular warm baths to ease the discomfort. If you feel tightenings as well or have any large amounts of discharge then be alert. If the pain gets worse then get on the phone to your MW and dont be made to feel like an anxious first mum, you know your body.

Hope everything goes well xxxxx

Sounds like stretching pains hun but if you´re worried then call your midwife to put your mind at rest. Only you know your own body hun XX
