I'm Currently Feeling: | Another Braxton Hicks Thread! Does anyone know if BH's eventually turn into real contractions or are the two totally unrelated??
Mine have been getting stronger over the past 24 hrs. No pattern to them - or none that I've established but they seem to be changing.
They weren't painful at all 2 days ago. I only really noticed them if my hand was on my bump. Now they are quite uncomfy to mildly painful and have a bit of backache with them. I'm spending as much time on the ball as possible.
Hebe generally stays still during them but sometimes she moves and SHIT THE BED that hurts!!!
I'm pretty sure I'm some way off having her yet but any opinions welcome!!

I'm Currently Feeling: | Mmmm...difficult one really... I thought they were unrelated, but nothing to say they couldn't merge into each other surely?! Good question. I can't say I've noticed having any so it's a bit difficult for me to say.... Genuine contractions last for a lot longer don't they? And they are continuous?! Oh sorry, that's not much bloody help at all.... xxx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I'm at a bit of a loss because while I have experienced proper contractions with my first (and these AINT proper contractions by a LONG way!!) I was induced so they didnt come on gradually IYKWIM. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Id like to know this aswell. I thought i was getting proper contractions as they were fairly painful lasting about 1min 30secs and was about 6-7mins apart!! I dont know if that means they are still braxton hicks or are they proper contractions!! I was hoping my waters would just break like they did with my lil man at least i knew he was defo on his way. Its all so confusing!! Sorry to have been no help lol. |

| I would say that as Braxton Hicks are practice contractions, they are never going to become real contractions. They are merely the way your uterus prepares for "real contractions" and, therefore, are unrelated. Not 100% sure on that though! x |

Not 100% sure on that though! x | Now thats what I thought but the MW today told us that BH's are actually 'doing a job of work' and to treat them like 'real' ones. So get on your ball etc but actual labour contractions are in a regular pattern and thats how you can tell them apart..... I'm just confuzzled.....
