What do you all think?

Hey everyone. Over the last few months most of your opinions have proved invaluable to me so here I am again seeking your advice.

It's like this...... as some of you may know I had to pop to the hospital last week, they thought my waters may have been leaking. Luckily everything in that department was fine BUT there seemed to be a huge mix up with my due dates (they have three different ones and the one that I was relying on ie today, was the last one they were willing to accept).

So tomorrow I have to go and meet with my gyno for my 40 +1 appointment, and I really want to ask him

-how come they got the dates so muddled
-what problems could arise if I am further over than a day
-what they intend to do to ensure my babies safety

But I have a problem with worrying I sound too pushy when asking questions. I usually just freeze up and end up not asking (and kicking myself for it) Just wondering how youd phrase it.

It kinda threw me tbh. and i've felt a tad less confident since so i really wanna get all the answers I need to feel a little more at ease.

Thanks in advance ladies.

Hi!I know what ypu you mean with the freezing up thing!I always end up feeling like I'm moaning or they are thinking 'oh here we go another paranoid mother.....' LOL!But I think at your stage and under the circumsatnces you should just bite the bullet and ask what ever the hell you like!!!You have some good concerns that in my opinion are very justified due to the fact that no-one can seem to get your dates right.....which I didn't realise was that difficult to be honest!!!!
Good luck and I hope the baby comes soon x

I do that all the time my OH makes me write it down what questions i have and then i'm more likely to remember as he will question me when i get home
I think you should ask, just let them know that you're just wondering about it you're not complaining... least thats what i would do? Also i dont think there is much to worry about, before when we didnt have all these things to persuade babies out they came out when they wanted to. Your baby will come when its ready Hope the gyno can give you answers

Not to confuse matters further but in alot of countries you arent even considered full term until 42 weeks. Its sooooooo uncommon to go further than this that im a big believer in trusting your own body. The risks are minimal but they are there for babies born over 42 weeks so it is important to know just how long they will let you go for. My hospital are a week out and as i am confident in my dates ive told them i wont consider an induction until im two weeks over [b]my [b] dates. Are you confident about any of the due dates??

Yeah Im pretty confident in the 11th because that would mean I concieved between a certain time and thats the only time within about a month either direction it could have happened.

I did what you all said and wrote it down and it really did make it easier- I was holding the piece of paper and he inquired about it in a very friendly way so it made me much more confident. Thanx a mill ladies!
