Anyone else had/have this??

Yesterday, i woke up feeling a bit sick....which I have now and then so wasnt worried. I had weetabix in the morning and then toast when i got to work. For lunch i had a Jacket potato and two plums and a apple. Though i felt like it was all stuck in my chest and hadnt gone down (which i know is normal espacially as im getting bigger)....when i got home however...i was seriously projectile vomitting.....layed on the bathroom floor for about 45 mins (phoned NHS Direct as was scared it was food poisoning! but they said it sounded like a bug and baby was moving about all last night so i wasnt worried) but now i am left with a feeling in my throat like i have a lump there that moves!! Its sore when i swallow but mostly when i eat or drink.

I have googled it found this

What are the symptoms of acid reflux and oesophagitis?
Heartburn is the main symptom. This is a burning feeling which rises from the upper abdomen or lower chest up towards the neck. (It is confusing as it has nothing to do with the heart!)
Other common symptoms include: pain in the upper abdomen and chest, feeling sick, an acid taste in the mouth, bloating, belching, and a burning pain when you swallow hot drinks. Like heartburn, these symptoms tend to come and go, and tend to be worse after a meal.
Some uncommon symptoms may occur. If any of these symptoms occur it can make the diagnosis difficult as these symptoms can mimic other conditions. For example:
A persistent cough, particularly at night sometimes occurs. This is due to the refluxed acid irritating the trachea (windpipe). Asthma symptoms of cough and wheeze can sometimes be due to acid reflux.
Other mouth and throat symptoms sometimes occur such as gum problems, bad breath, sore throat, hoarseness, and a feeling of a lump in the throat.
Severe chest pain develops in some cases (and may be mistaken for a heart attack).

What causes acid reflux and who does it affect?
The sphincter at the bottom of the oesophagus normally prevents acid reflux. Problems occur if the sphincter does not work very well. This is common, but in most cases it is not known why it does not work so well. In some cases the pressure in the stomach rises higher than the sphincter can withstand. For example, during pregnancy, after a large meal, or when bending forward.

Most people have heartburn at some time, perhaps after a large meal. However, about 1 in 3 adults have some heartburn every few days, and nearly 1 in 10 adults have heartburn at least once a day. In many cases it is mild and soon passes. However, it is quite common for symptoms to be frequent or severe enough to affect quality of life. Regular heartburn is more common in smokers, pregnant women, heavy drinkers, the overweight, and those aged between 35 and 64.

and apparently some pregnant women seem to have had it....its something to do with your reflux (as all your organs are pushed up by the baby)

Anyone had it or know of any relieving methods for the 'lump' ???

Don't know about the lump. It could be a piece of swollen tissue, due to the severity of the vomiting. If it doesn't go in the next couple of days, see you gp.
Hope you feel better soon hun

I have something similar although I'm never sick. Your version sounds more severe. I permanently have what feels like a blockage in my chest, heartburn and as though I could be sick but not feeling sick just as though there isn't enough room in there with the baby. Like you say I think it's just lack of space and will be better once baby drops, but not pleasant in the meantime. x

H ya, ive suffered badly with heartburn and indigestion from early on-the indigestion bit has been worse since baby has got bigger and my stomach seems to be squashed! Ive only thrown up once though-my midwife said not to worry, baby had been going mental kicking me aswell that day which im sure made me feel even more sick.

Ive also felt as if my food wont go down as quickly as it should, seems to stay high up making me feel rather sick at times esp if i try to lie down too soon after eating a meal.

The joys of pregnancy!

Ok, theres two things i would try:
1st- try drinking a whole can of coke-if there is a something stuck in your throat this will dislodge it. ( this is our first port of call in the emergency dept where i work!)
2nd-take some gaviscon! I feel like my food is sometimes still in my throat but after taking gaviscon it goes away!
if neither of these help make an appointment with your gp just to check. x

hey hun, i get somethin similar, i was on tablets for it before ig ot pregnant, i was constantly feeling and beein sick and had the lump in the throat feelin. basically its like it said in that googled stuff, the muscle at the top of your stomach doesnt shut properly and with bein preg there's more pressure on it, hence why we get a hell of a lot of heartburn as the acid travels back up. gaviscon and sitting in a dead comfy chair seem to help me, i find its worse when i'm sat bolt upright. hope you feel better soon xx
