Sharp pains in my cervix....

Opinions please ladies.....

Hebe is head down and I'm fairly confident she's not back to back now....well certainly not ALL the time anyway.

I keep getting short, sharp stabs in the top of my cervix........what is that?? Surely if her heads down there it's not her hands.....or could it be???

I just read Ann-Marie describing them and how they make her 'yip' and thats just how they are for me too - like a sharp finger is being prodded down there and it makes you flinch and yelp for a second.

Obviously I'm quite a long way off going into labour, I just wondered if there was any other explaination than baby jabbing me???!!!

x

See, I thought they were from feet being down there, when she was breech. But the pains have actually got more frequent and painful now that she's engaged. So it must be engagement pains if they're head down. I'm actually quite excited by them now... sad isn't it !!! And, when I get thm now, I'm trying not to clench up, but to relax my pelvic floor.. which BLOODY hurts, but all I can think is it must be allowing her to push down more

Had the same thing for weeks on end and was told it was the pain you get from baby engaging. Sure enough when I was examined it turned out she was doing just that.

Have you been examined to see if she's engaging?

I'm pretty much where you are in my pregnancy hon and I get them too. I would assume it's due to the baby's movement- smacking the cervix from the inside.

The yipping is the best way to describe the effect it has- I'll be in the shop and all of a sudden I stop quickly and take a sharp breath in. Happens at least a couple of times a day and it is such a sharp, quick pain.

Thanks Anma I remember you getting them a while back and we knew she was breech so it seemed sensible that it was her feet! Obviously not!!

Sarah - I have an appointment on tuesday so we'll see but she wasnt engaged 3 weeks ago at my last one. She's my second so I just figured she wouldnt be engaging just yet...

Cowhugger - that exactly how they are and a few time a day - no real pattern that I can put my finger on.

I think with it being such a sharp pain I just thought it had to be something like a foot/hand/elbow and not her head!!

Thanks girls.

I thought it was just her bashing me around down there as well, but it turned out it wasn't...

I hadn't seen my M/W for 2 weeks and in that time she'd went from not engaging to 3/5...

Hoping she will have moved again when I see m/w on tuesday.
