Need induction advice please

Hi Everyone,

I need some advice, im 11 days overdue and have to be induced on Saturday if nothing happens and im really worried about it.
I was with my friend when she was induced and she had a really bad time, the drip made her have lots of strong contractions very quickly which resulted in her being cut and bubs being pulled out as his heart rate went down.
So after this im very worried about being induced, does anyone have any good advice for me ???

Thanks for reading

Sorry hunni, this is my first so ive never been induced. Maybe have a look at some birth storys to see woman that have been and there experiences.

Im sure it will be fine, and just think at the end of it all you will have baba in your arms.

well i had to have the hormone drip to induce me when my waters broke as i have group b strep and im not gonna lie it does make the contractions worse but baby was fine through the whole thing so it doesnt always end up that way. try not to focus on whats gonna happen and more on what your gonna get at the end of it.

Hiya, I'm 11 days overdue too and I'm supposed to be induced today at 3pm. However, I have some concerns too and after speaking to my midwife I've decided to sit it out for a few more days and see if I go go into labour spontaneously (sp). My friend was also induced recently and lets just say she went through the mill.

I was induced and had a better labour than everyone I know that had their baby naturally. It was only 4 hours and 10 minutes long. I tore, but that would've happened even if I wasn't induced. I only had gas & air too. The best advice I can give you is "don't worry." I was very calm, so Caitlyn was too. I knew it would be fine and it was.

Hi girls,

ive been induced twice now and its not as bad as some people make out, had prostaglandin pessaries both times, first ones didnt do much and the 2nd ones given 6 hours later set me off the pains can go from nothing to pretty intense very quickly but as long as midwives are with you monitoring you you should be fine they after so far dilated break your waters for you also to help things along, i managed to go through both with gas and air, just try to remain as calm as u can i know that sounds daft considering the pain you are in but the more relaxed you are going in and out of contractions the smoother they go, the only down side i had was i was quite sick after delivery due to the speed.

hope this helps a little, but everyone is different

Good luck

Thank you girls, you've really helped.
Its good to get advice off people who have been there and not just midwives.
