Labour advice?

As I'm getting closer to my due date thoughts are coming about labour.
For example... OH MY GOD

I think I'll be fine when it actually happens but the time leading up to it is driving me mad!!
I'm sooooo nervous! I'm losing sleep over it!

I know that antenatal classes teach you how to deal with it more but i didn't go I just thought everyone would look down on me so i didn't bother.

Does anyone know what I could do to make labour easier?
I've looked up the perinuem (sp?) massage I think I'm gonna try that.
Does the birthing ball help or does that just help baby getting engaged?

Thanks in advance!! xxx

I have no advice whatsoever hun but didnt want to read and run.

To be honest, I've tried not to think about it! When I think about labour I absolutely shit myself at the thought of what is going to happen so I've tried to just put it to the back of my mind and keep my options open for the big day.

You will be fine

Don't be scared about it! Honestly. It'll be 10 times worse if you are. Yes it hurts A LOT but you will deal with it! I have the lowest pain threshold known to man and I'm still alive. In my opinion there isn't really a way to make labour easier but there are way you can help ease the pain a little bit like having a warm bath. I had a birthing ball and tried to sit on it and bounce but I couldn't stand the pain and felt lying down was better but everyone's different. And at the end of it all you have a beautiful baby and you forget all about the pain Good luck!

Try not to be to scared chick just do wot your body tells you it will all come naturally. You stressing out about it wont be doing your mind set any good and will probably make you more anxious about it when its happening which ive been told makes it worse. I used the birthing ball and it helped take my mind off wot was going on. It stopped me from dilating strangely but every person is different so wot works for one person wont help another.

dont be scared about it. i wasnt with my first and it went fine. mind u i was petrified with my 2nd!! it hurts like hell but its something you've gotta do and you soon forget the pain once baba's in your arms.

just try and enjoy your last couple of weeks being pregnant.

Ive had 2 children and now preggers with my 3rd, when I think about the labour I get abit panicy even though i should be a pro now

I would say just go with the flow, there is pain relief if u want it to help, like everyone else has said once its over and u have the baby in ur arms it will all be worth it

Enjoy ur last couple of weeks as when ur bump is gone u will miss it

All I can say is just go with the flow. I had an idea of everything I wanted eg pain relief and positions etc but it all went out of the window once labour was actually here. one bit of advice, when your in early labour try and eat something and get as much rest as possible. I wish I had done that as it would of made my labour so much easier especially towards the end. I didnt like the birthing ball, it didnt help me at all but everyone is different. If you get the chance to use a birthing pool, it really is great even if you just use it at the start of labour. Its true what they say though, all the pain goes as soon as you hold your little baby.

hun you really didnt miss much at antenatal classes, but if you go onto the nhs website they have some videos for pregnancy childbirth and afterwards that might help

My lamaze teacher had as hold ice cubes in both fists and squeeze. As the pain got more intense, we praticed taking our minds off the physical pain and focusing on something happy --such as the baby we were about to bring into the world!

I feel the same as you love!!! Have to just keep telling myself that women do this every day...its natural....blah, blah, blah!!!

I haven't been to any breathing classes or anything, my midwife just says, Hayley, you know how to breathe!!! She's right tho, I would forget it all as soon as the pain starts!! Although I tend to hold my breath when I am in pain?? Hmmmmmmm!!!!

Anyway as we are due on the same day we may be doing it at the same time!!! x x
