Sorry guys but i've been doin evening primrose oil for a few weeks as a pessary to my cervix and all it does is help ripen your cervix. Her body was obviously ready for labour and therefore it just helped bring it on, but didn't do it on it's own.

I'd love to know if it works, might buy some for use in after 34 weeks.

Well even to help my cervix move along a bit might make it benificial.

As Sarah said it's not thought to induce labour (see this interesting thread : Natural Labour Induction Methods.) but its good to help soften the cervix.

I've started it today as per the info - 2 per day orally until 38 weeks then taken internally.

defo give it a go, i tried it as a pessary last night, i just made apost about it but internet crashed and i lost it!

basically I woke through the night with pains, the strongest Iv had yet and I couldnt go back to sleep at first. I also had lots of discharge. They stopped in the end and I fell asleep but iv had some pains on and off this morning since. I think it could be doing something, I wont get my hopes up though xxx
