When do you start doing these? Also, how do you do it? I know something about 10 kicks...but 10 kicks in what time period? I've read several different amounts of time

hey hun I was given a chart to count kicks when I had a problem and I had to choose a 12 hour periond each day to do it so I did 12-12 and had to count every kick and evey squirm then when I made it to 10 I made a note of the time and did this everyday until the midwife said it was ok roughly it should be the same time each day but I did have a few days where if I had a can of coke my 10 movements would be over in an hour or two you only have to worry if it gets later and later each day I hope this helps

You are supposed to pick a time of day where your LO is typically active, and then count how many times she kicks during an hour. This will establish your normal range. Then, each day, do the same thing, counting until she gets to the normal range. If the baby doesn't move/kick at least 10 times in 4 hours, call your doctor

Yep what maybebaby said. Not that I ever counted kicks As long as I felt movement throughout the day I was okay and my OB never asked me to count
