Irritable uterus?

Hi, saw my MW today and told her about my constant braxton hicks which I've had from about 20wks - I would say I get them anywhere from 10-20 times a day. She said it sounds like I have an irritable uterus and that even the baby moving can set it off - she also didn't seem very worried or anything. I've done a bit of a search on the internet and found a few sites that said it can lead to pre-term labour (although I don't know how reliable some internet sites are), Some also said that women can get them every few minutes for the entire final month of pregnancy!!

Just wondering if any of you ladies have heard of this or are experiencing it too? Should I be worried?

I had an irritable uterus and found it really painful (especially towards the end) but all in all I found they were just something which lead to nothing (which made me very angry when I was overdue!)

I'm sure if your midwife was concerned she'd get you checked out more. If you get worried about it at any point though I'd say to call someone - I know I did and they were always happy to check me out.

Good luck - hope they improve! If it gets too bad, ask your midwife for a painkillers - especially in late pregnancy you need to preserve your energy for labour and there is no point sitting it out when you're in pain! x
