Did anyone else decide not to find out the sex of their little one?

Everyone i know that's had a baby recently has found out and i've noticed a lot of the peeps here found out too...

My friends keep pressuring me to pay for a second scan to find out cos they all want a girl -

me and OH are looking forward to a surprise at the end of the 9 months - it's kinda like having a xmas present under the tree for ages, you've had a shake and kinda know what it is but still get a surprise on the day..

Are we weird?

We didn't want to know the sex of our baby at first & then someone planted a little seed & i needed to know. I'm so glad i did find out because it's made me feel like i've already bonded with him.

BUT

I dont think your weird at all for not wanting to find out. My friend who is pregnant again is desprete for a girl (she alread has 2 boys) but didn't find out the sex this time either. I'm just bloody impaitent & couldn't stand waiting 9 months before finsing out.

If you dont want to know then dont let anybody try & force you to find out, your friends may want you to have a girl but this baby will be what it'll be!

I asked at my second scan and they said they think its going to be a girl.
But LO's legs were tightly shut :doh: so we are not completely sure.
We were going to pay for a private scan which would cost us £70-£90.
I thought it might be nice to have a bit of surprise and just spend the money on baby.

Im glad I found out too!

To me the surprise of the sex was when the baby was conceived. Because you never know what your going to end up with at conception.

I feel like knowing it is a girl helped us to bond with her too, and we had a 3d scan too which is awesome. Anytime we want to see our baby girl we can watch the dvd.

Plus we will be able to have a gorgeous girly nursery ready for her arrival And buy cute girly things, clothes and such.

My hubby and I decided not to find out as well We were a bit old fashioned in that way I guess and wanted to keep it a surprise. My sister was went nuts when we told her we weren't finding out... "How am I supposed to plan?!? How are you supposed to plan and decorate and get clothes?!?" She's a bit of a control freak But we love her!

I admit it's harder now that I'm closer and we're struggling to find suitable girls names. We have 4 options solid for a boy but really don't have one for a girl So that's probably what we'll get, hehehe....

Most of the family is hoping for a boy I think as we just had 2 girls born to my sister and SIL. However, most people think I'm carrying as if looks like a girl...

We'll be happy either way! We just want the LO healthy at this point.

So, I personally don't think you're weird as we're in the same boat if you are!

I havent found out.. my OH says its like x-raying your xmas presents before xmas. We're going for a 4d scan though on monday, i dont want to ask but kinda scared we find out by accident eeek!!

I quite like the idea of a suprise going to make me extra exited Though tbh nearly everyone i know were against us finding out what it was. Though just so that dont have to say 'it' i say he, cos i think bean is a he

we are waiting for our little surprise and i am going to use that as my focus, rather than photos etc in labour. wanting to find out what little one is. we decided together not to find out and are so glad we did, we are going to bond with baby together - as i feel that i am carrying it i bond more, i didnt want to have that extra bond when baby was born, i want hubby and i to share that together. OMG so soppy

I wanted to know as I had a suprise with my son. Plus going out and buying pink/blue with a newborn isn't viable, and I didn't want to go through 3 mths of yellow and greens again!
