Baby over weight?!

Hello, okay so i went to my ob/gyno appoinment yesterday afternoon and my ob/gyno told me that she thinks the baby is already at a whopping 8lb's, and is sending me to get an U/S done this week to determine how big he is, she said if he is 8lb or more she will be taking him out early.. now i know its just a guesstimate of the baby's weight and the doctor nor the U/S can determine exactly what the baby weighs, but i was just wondering if anyone else had this problem and if so how early did they take out the baby? was is via c-section or inducing?.. btw im 37 weeks..

Here if your baby is over 8lbs at 37 weeks they induce you.

All through my last pregnancy my MW said that my daughter was a big one.... I went 2 weeks overdue and she weighed 7lb 9oz!

So alot of it is guessing i think, but they will know more once you have had a scan xxx

I'm asian and at 38 weeks my baby was almost 8 lbs already, so i was induced then and nothing work, so doctor told me to wait and see until my due date which is 2 days away, if nothing happen naturally i will need c-sec on next monday ( 18th )
she said my baby would weigh about 9 lbs or 10 then, ouch!

ouch 9 or 10lbs! well goodluck with everything, lets hope that they're estimate was wrong and the baby turns out to be a bit smaller!

ha ha ha, I'm hoping the doctor was wrong. My friend even dreamt that i give birth to 13 lbs baby, Oh ! no no no . Her dream never come true ( i hope )

I hope they induce you before. My son was 8lbs 2oz and that was fine for me, but he was term.

I was told I was having a 9lber and a growth scan was arranged at 35wk my bump measured 40cm on the FH charch...anyways the night before my growth scan my waters broke naturally at 36 weeks....even during labor they were saying 'you know this baby is a big 1'....with onlyb 7 hours labor and last 20 minsn gas and air...my 5lb 15 oz angel was born ....
they can get it wrong!!!!

I haven't had this prob personally, but my best friend has just had her baby and at 30 weeks they estimated he was at 7lb and said the same. In the end she went into labour naturally at 40 weeks and he only weighed 6lb 6oz, so they can be far out.
