I'm Currently Feeling: | OK.... be honest..... How bad is labour???
Im starting to get really nervous and scared of the pain now!!!
All along Ive had the "shes gotta come out" approach and even been quite excited about it as its a brand new experience!!
But now..... I watch birthday programmes and am nearly in tears when i see women screaming!!!
How am I going to handle the pain??? Arrrghh!!! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hmmm.....I found it not that painful to be honest, i was in labour for about 24 hours in total but only the last few were really sore, when my community MW came out to see me at home before I went to hospital I was 3cm dialated and she offered me a tens machine and I refused as it really wasn't that bad for me. By the time I got to hospital I was 6cm even then it was still bearable, they had to give me gas & air to calm me down so they could give me an internal ( I was just scared I think, was only 17)
Then the evil MW gave a shot of Diamorphine in the leg without me knowing! I think I could have gone without it as it was quite close to the end she gave me it.
I am scared about going through it again but only because I know that every birth is different and this time it could be totally!!, oh and not getting to hospital on time!!!
You will be fine! It's like you say, they have to come out somehow!
Edited to say!!!
I would rather give birth than have chronic toothache if that gives you some idea?!! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I had my hospital tour of the labour ward last night, hoped it would put me at ease a bit, but it hasn't!! Scared I won't be able to cope with the pain! Just keep telling myself that millions of women manage it, some more than once aswell! x |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I don't want to get all graphic but my biggest memory was it felt like a knife was coming out of my bum. The pressure of the baby on that area was real tough. This time, I'm gonna be brave though! And the contractions reminded me of when you have to take a huge crap and the stomach pain has you sweating and rocking back and forth. I guess each woman is different but for me I was amazed I did it. And look- I'm back for more!!! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | God, Beltane, I cant imagine those type of pains for longer then what a crap lasts haha!
I work at a hospital, and our labour ward is noisy, women crying/screaming. And then seeig women leaving the hospital a couple days later in utter agony and sicker then hell.
Yup, basically it.
Some people can handle the pain better, but everyone is different and for some it hurts more. It also depends on you physically too. Some people are just built better for birthing. Regardless, you have a large grapefruit coming out of one of the most sensitive places on your body and ost likely tearing you in the process.
Im willing to try with no pain meds as long as im comfortable, but when it becomes enough im not going to deny myself pain meds either. |
