I tried this when i went over due with my son. I waited till after my due date before i had it.

My mum said to mix it with orange juice and the castor oil floated on the top.

It was the worst thing i have ever tasted, i took it 2 or 3 times and had to be over a sink in case i was sick!!

It tastes like chip fat!!

I was desperate though!! My son finally arrived 9 days late he was 8lb 1oz and i had no stitches. My Aunt said the castor oil had helped him slide out. Yeh right!! It didn't feel like he slid out!!

I won't try castor oil again, going to try raspberry leaf tea!

its your choice

i am 37weeks pregnant i took castor oil 2 days ago,
i am expecting some judgemental comments on this but i have spend most of my pregnancy in hospital due to my kidneys and bladder packing in to the point i naw self cathitoise 5 times a day and i also have spd.
when i took it 2 days ago i did start contracting half an hour later an had 3 rushes to the toilet, he baby didnt end up making an apperance but naw 2 days on i have had 3 shows and walked for miles dispite the spd pain, i have just taken 1 and a half oz of castor oil with a bit of lemonade and sugar.
i have done allot of research and have found no evidence that suggests it can harm the baby so i will wait and see,

i have also tried hot currys, rasberry leaf tea, walking and jumping on a gym ball, bt sex is not an option as this will trigger spd pain.

my mum took this for all 4 pregnancies and has had 4 healthy kids, so i personally think its yourown choice and yo should not listen to any remarks that people would like to make,
if you have concerns speak to your doctor or midwife.

all the best.

Only way i would/have tried castor oil is small % in bubble bath. Lol It far from the same, but in way its getting straight your cervix without really affecting the baby. Labour did start few days later... whether that is a link i have no idea.
Id never drink it to dangerous.
