Well said.

I would really like to breast feed but we all here have the same intention for our children.

it helps though. proven. check out what the World Health organization has to say about it.

I dont understand why people wont try. it why we have breasts. it's 100% natural. its what we were designed to do. I mean, it is the best choice for baby. why give them some manufactured stuff when we have the best stuff on tap?
Just my opinion tho.
because some of us just dont feel comfortable with it and there is nothing wrong with given baby formula, i bottlefeed my girls and they are fine hardly ever get ill and we are as close as you can be.
we all no the benefits and we're not breastfeeding because we cant be bothered its because we all have valid reasons and shouldnt be made to feel that we're bad mothers. just my opinion.
Tinytoes wasnt trying to make people feel bad about not breastfeeding she simply said she didnt understand.... and I agree it is what our breasts are for in the first place!!

NOTE THIS IS POST IS WITH REFERENCE TO CRAP PUMPS. NOT ALL.

I HIRED A HOSPITAL POWER ONE AND ITS WORKING A TREAT. MY MILK PRODUCTION IS INCREASING NICELY AND I PUMP 5 TIMES ISH A DAY.

Excuse me? Your comment seems overly harsh and dismissive.

You seem to be one of the few women that are successful at this.

There are a lot of women out there that cannot pump no matter what machine is pulling on them. They should not be meant to feel like if they only had a great machine, they could breastfeed. Because that's not always true.

I happen to be one. I can only draw 1-2 ounces NO MATTER WHAT I DO. I can try to do it in the shower, with a picture of baby in one hand, AND her nursing on the other, and it's hit or miss as to how much I produce. One out of 10 times I get the breastfull. I own a $400 Medela Pump and though it's good, it cannot get my dry on a regular basis. I had a manual pump with my first baby, and I get just as much (or more) from it, than I do from the fancy Medela electric one.

So no, it's not just the pump. It's got a lot to do with biology and the human physiology.
I dont think it sounded overly harsh and dismissive!!! I have avoided that post like the plague because I want to try and pump and if I fail I will fail but thats for my body to tell me!!!!
Loads and loads of women express there milk!!! Some mothers even express and donate to premature baby units so therefore people are successful!!

As i said on my example...Both me and my sister were bottlefed.Perfectly healthy, advanced children.
Actually it is my friend who was breastfed today suffers from hypothyroidism(not saying that it has something to do with her way of feeding as an infant).

Plus, they ASSUME that children would be more advanced and healthier. The reaserch has never been preformed. Why? Because that type of reasearch would last for years.Following two children throught out their entire childhood(plus many other factors go into this like desease history in family,it's hard to find two children with equal health background).

But this isn't a debate. The OP asked what we plan on doing.I said what I plan on doing.
Unfortunatly I expected to be judged for it....

You are very correct! There are a few women who are very successful! The average woman is not though... that is fact. The purpose of that thread was to provide information about the physiology of the process so women who intended to pump had the information to better understand what was happening in their bodies, and to encourage those women to find lactation support - so if they failed, they didn't feel bad or that they didn't have information available to them!

definetly.... Reading this thread it seems as soon as someone says bottle they immediately assume women will judge them and therefore start expressing their reasons for not breastfeeding!!!

Its our choice and were all adult enough to make that choice for ourselves and our babies!! As long as the babies get fed!!!
