My waters only broke on it's own with one of my babies. I woke up and went to the toilet. After I was done going wee, water just kept coming out, and if I moved a certain way, more would leak out. It doesn't hurt, but you can notice a difference in how hard your contractions are (more painful) after your waters break.

NO the waters breaking dont hurt at all, its after that when the contractions get stronger, thats when its sore!! Mine were a trickle...every time I had a contraction I squirted (sorry TMI) water! So I had a towel rolled up between my legs, so that I could waddle to the loo....it made me feel like I needed to go to the loo all the time to do wees...but I had no control over it!!!!!! There is never any warnings (well I didnt) when it comes to waters breaking! sorry hun! just stay at home if your overdue! No Im kidding!
