Wink

Is it really THAT bad..

Well, last night my cousin went into labour and I stayed with her at the hospital. I swear to GOD there wasn't a peep out of her! She went from 6 inches dialated to 10 inches within a matter of an hour and a half. In the time it took her to get from 6 to 7(about 20 minutes) she wasn't complaining at all! A few facial expressions but that's about it. My grandmother was asking her, "Do you want me to rub your back, dear?" and she kept saying "I'm good." She didn't cry, scream, nothing. She made a few grunts once she got to 9 cm but that's the worst of it. Also, once her waters broke, the baby came out within SECONDS! I mean literally slid out of her. Thing is, this is her 6th child.. But apparently she's been like this for all of her children, and it's happened this fast.
Maybe there is hope for us?

Some women experience deliveries like this and it amazes me. You never know, there is hope for everyone.

She had no relief at all! We were asking her she kept saying "No, I'm good" then she would smile!

At prenatal classes, the nurse told me that first time labours AVERAGE 14 hours, obviously there are some longer and some shorter. She told me that first time moms usually push for 1 1/2 hours. Second time moms the average for pushing is 3 MINUTES!

I think it gets easier with each pregnancy. BUT I HOPE IM LIKE YOUR COUSIN! lol
