Not sure hon. But if you don't want to be started off, I'd try all the old wives tales about getting it going yourself! Good luck

Not to disappoint you, but you can be 1, 2, or 3 cm dialated for weeks. I was 2 cm dialated for 2 weeks with my son and he was showing NO signs of coming when I had my c-sec. I would try all the wife's tale things though because your body is definetly getting ready- see if you can push it over that edge. Good luck!

well i think they say active labour is when you are dilated to 4cm and have regular contractings but i dont think it matters all that much how many cm you are now because when i was preg with emma i was 7days late and the midwife checked me and i was 3cm but not in labour and she gave me a sweep and i had her the next day. maybe ask for a sweep instead of them inducing you? and the time frame varies from women to women.
