I'm Currently Feeling: | Babies' genitalia.. I read a few places that little girls/boys are born affected by some of their mothers hormones, which cause the genitalia in both of them to swell to SOMETIMES absurd sizes. I've also been taught that sometimes little girls will bleed like they're having their periods for awhile.
I was wondering if anybody knows how long this lasts for (the swelling and bleeding)? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | The genitals are a bit swollen (but not to absurd size) after delivery and was gone by the end of the first week. At the same time, my daughter did not bleed after she was born. |

| Yes this is true. Also the breasts in both boys and girls might also be enlarged. Swelling of the genitals is quite common and some baby girls might have a slight blood tinged mucous discharge. All of it is due to the baby being exposed to estrogen in the uterus. All should calm down within 2 weeks I believe. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | my mum said I had a period the day i was born and it was just all the hormones! I would think that the breast and genital swelling would only last a couple of days at most, until the hormones die down.
I sore some pics of little babies with little boobies at an antenatal class - very sweet! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Grace had swollen boobs and she had a little bit of discharge and blood from her genitals. Midwife said it was from hormones that i had passed onto her and there was nothing to worry about |

| I'm not sure, but my nurse at prenatal classes said that the girls just get discharge because their hormones are all out of whack just like ours are for the moment. I don't think it lasts that long. I have no idea about little boys. |
