| Vaginal Birth after C-section? Help!
My son, Charlie, had to be delivered by emergency c-section because his heartrate fell with contractions. This time they've told me I can try delivering normally and have a 70% chance that it'll work. I'm really worried that I won't be able to do it.
Last time I only got to 3cm dialated after 13 hours of contractions and that hurt like hell (sorry if that's worried any first time mums).
What if I can't do it?! I realy want to be able to do it. I'm worried I'll panic too much and endanger the baby.... I need reassurance? | | | | Status: Offline

| Hey,
I know several who have had natural births after sections. I for one had an emergency section after almost 3 days of contractions (incl. early labour).
Just don't go in with any preconceived notions of having to have a natural birth. If they need to, they will perform a section - but be mentally prepared that it could happen and that it doesn't matter..., they will be monitoring and do what is best for baby and you.
Don't stress yourself about it - it really doesn't matter at the end of the day how your baby is born as long as he/she is healthy and well. |

Going for my 3rd C-section in 6 weeks time and it truly doesn't bother me what way I have delivered as long as my baby is healthy! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I understand your concerns. I am attempting a vbac this time around as well. It is important you go in with a positive attitude. My mw said that women who come in all stressed and doubting themselves, have a much less chance of being successful than women who come in trusting themselves, their babies, and their bodies. Although a vbac is a little different than normal vaginal, it really is not such a big deal these days. You have a great chance at being successful, and if you aren't you have another c-sec which is not that big a deal either. But go in with the attitude you WILL succeed and everything is going to work out fine. |
