Question

What Would Be Your Reaction...

You had several confirmations from your doctor that your baby is a boy or girl, and you went out and bought everything for your expectant child.

Your family and friends had given you a baby shower and everyone gave you gifts according to the sex.

You did everything possible.
Finally, On your delivery day things didn't go as confirmed by your doctor.

What would be your first reaction? How would you cope with the situation?

Although there's nothing a mother can do about it, she will feel humiliated in a way because she has set her mind on the confirmations the doctors.

She trusted their judgments, did everything, and told family/friends only to find out she get what's not expected.

Personally, I would be stunned.

I would have to blame myself for putting high expectation in a doctor who is capable of making mistakes and also for setting up/preparing everything the way I have done. Examples: One main color for the baby, clothing etc...

As for my baby, I'll have to accept it and make the necessary arrangements
and move on.

What's your reaction?

Mello

I think if I gave birth to a little boy instead of a girl, as long as he was healthy I would be happy!!

But, I would be a tadge pissed off in terms of me having bought everything in expectation of having a girl!! But then I do need to remember that the hospital do tell you it's not 100% accurate.

If however I had several confirmations, like a couple of sexing scans & chromosome testing then I would be fuming!!!

I'd be upset if I didn't have anything to take my bub home in, and if I had everything pink but it came out a boy. I wouldn't care so much about it after that, but it seems an awful waste of gender specified items, lol.

I've brought an outfit which would be ok if he does turn out to be a girl but having a lack of money and a fair few boy bits I'd be slightly annoyed if he was a girl for that reason only but would love for a lil girl.

As long as it's healthy I don't care.

This is my worry!!

I've had a pink shower and all the clothes I've bought are mostly pink! However, as other ladies have said, then as long as bubs is healthy then i'm sure i'd get over the initial shock!

We just want a happy and healthy baby but my God it'll be the first thing I check! x x

It wouldnt bother me at all about the baby, I would just be annoyed that we'd all wasted so much money!

And annoyed with the docs for being so sure but so wrong. I dont think it would affect bonding etc with the baby though

I'd be surprised but still happy as long as Baby was OK.

It would be annoying having to take stuff back though - ha ha!

I don't worry much about it because I am absolutely certain that my baby is a girl but IF that happens I would be fuming. Not because I would mind having a boy,I would really be super happy with either but I bought clothes, decorated the nursery, people bought me clothes, pink baby showers I mean,it is seriously a waste of a lot of money!

I can't dress a boy in pink ( I know it's a bit sexist but it is something mothers dream about right? Dressing your boy in blue or girl in pink).

Plus I had a private sexing scan so they would have a lot to explain to me....
