I'm Currently Feeling: | Top Tips For Surviving Pregnancy & Birth?? Possibly TMI!!! I was just thinking, we all know the usual things about pregnancy and birth that are written in every pregnancy book.... But I was wondering if anyone has anymore?
Like ones that maybe your Mum or Granny told you that you don't think are common knowledge?
I have a couple given to me by my mum..... If TMI Sorry!!!!
* In those first few months when sickness can be really bad and uncontrolable, carry baby nappy bags around with you in your bag "just incase"!!
* When you go for a pee lean as far forward as you can while still sitting on the loo, it moves baby forward a bit and off the bladder and releases any extra pee so you don't have anything extra coming out when you stand up!!!
* this one might gross a few of you out, but here goes anyway....after birth if you are swollen and sore midwives usually recommend using a bag of frozen peas to place on your Whoo Haa for relief, but a better way is to fill a condom with water and freeze it then use that!
* If you have stiches from an epi or tear, use salt in your bath to help healing then when you get out instead of drying with a towel, use your hairdryer on cool heat to dry them.
* If you are scared of your first pee after birth especially if you have stiches do it in the bath or shower, your urine is sterile at first anyway so you don't have to worry about it being dirty.
*Even though it has never happened, when you have stiches and go for your 1st number 2.... you always fear that you will burst your stiches so to make you feel better hold a clean sanitary towel over your stiches.
There is probably more but I can't think of them at the minute but I'll add them if i do!
so does anyone have anymore to help us all through this?! |

Sorry to share that!! | Oh, don't remind me of the one I had after my daughter. Because of the epidural and C-section, embarrassment of passing gas in the hospital, and hardly eating while I was in the hospital, it took me over a week after I was home to pass my first movement. It took so long and it was like having another kid. It was horrendous.
I tried a suppository and just couldn't bring myself to do it. LOL |
