Put cold cabbage leaves on sore breastfeeding boobs.... I read that somewhere! Sounds a bit smelly though!

A few days after giving birth breasts can get engorged when the milk comes in. To relieve this I lay in a warm bath. Also, microwaving a slightly damp towel and placing on them helps with the pain too. Just note that you will release milk at the same time.

Also, I would use the cooling hemmoroid pads to cleanse myself after going #2. Much better than using dry tp. ouch

Great tips! I'm not sure about the salt bath one though. If you've got soluble stitchtes it can speed up the dissolving process and cause probs. The rest are gret though.

Whilst in labour move around as much as possible a birthing ball is great, as when you lay down or sit it slows labour down loads.... I also did a take a break while in l abour and hubby used it to time my contractions (still have it) eventually I couldn't concentrate but worked a treat.

I used 2 maternity pads one with wings then the really big one on top never leaked.

A Bday best thing ever for weeing although a wet cloth/tissue after weeing helps stops the stinging too.

Great ideas there

I got recommended to put 2 disposable nappies in the freezer with some water in each and put them on ur breast when they are sore, helps relieve them as it's the perfect shape. Sounds a bit cold to me tho.

I've suggested this one on a different thread, but my sister said if you have stitches (whether natural or c-section) and they offer you an enema before you leave the hospital, TAKE IT!!! Even if you are afraid of them. Much better than the first poo.

Becks non-alcoholic beer is the most convincing one

Watch your sugar intake- a massive rush (say, like eating a pint of ice cream or a couple slices of cake) can trigger a panic attack, particularly in the third trimester. No kidding.

And, as some of you may remember from my horrendous hospital experience in June, MAKE CERTAIN YOU ARE DRINKING ENOUGH WATER AND FAMILIARISE YOURSELF WITH THE SYMPTOMS OF KIDNEY INFECTIONS. They can cause you to go into premature labour, as well as wreaking havoc in your urinary tract!

And never let someone bully you into doing anything during your pregnancy that you don't want- this includes friends and family, healthcare workers, magazines, and strangers on the street and covers all issues like your birth plan, antenatal care, what you eat, where you go, etc.

That's all from me!!
