Home birth anyone?

After finally meeting a supportive midwife we are hoping for a home birth (my other 3 babies were born in hospital)
I was just wondering which room in your home you plan to give birth in, and if you have children, will they be present? My plan is to have a pool in the dining room, and to also make a makeshift bed out of a paddling pool, and some old duvets .etc. My children can be present if they wish (probably just the oldest 2)
I look foward to hearing from you

I hope to have a home birth this time. I haven't yet discussed this with my midwife yet but was going to mention it at my next appointment. We live in a bungalow so i will be able to access all rooms of the house. My biggest worry is that we don't have a bath in this house and last time i used the bath to ease the pain of early labour.

I have been looking for a birthing pool online but would like one with a heater as i don't think our boiler would give us enough hot water.

So much to think about!!

I don't want my son to be at the birth as he is only 3 and i don't think he'd cope very well seeing his mummy in pain.

I'll let you know how i get on when i've spoken to my midwife.

Im planning on a home birth too! Iv spoken to my midwife about it briefly but were discussing it properly at my next appointment on thursday then she is coming out to our house to assess it.......we move a week on tues so it will be once were settled in there!

My daughter is 2 and a half and I kinda want her to be at home.....she'll probably just play as usual or watch tv, or if its the night time she will be asleep. But im not really sure as I dont know how she will react to seeing me in pain. If she does get upset then I think I will get my mum to take her to her house instead.

Got lots of quesions to ask the midwife havent really made any set descions yet like which room I will give birth in ect.

I like the idea of a pool but its too much messing about setting it up and I can see my daughter wanting to swim in it!!!

Did you go overdue with any of your other children ? I was induced at 42 weeks with Ella and Im worried this will happen again and I wont get my home birth I guess whats meant to be will be,untill then I will keep positive!

My 1st was 4 days early, 2nd 2 days early, 3rd 1 day late. so hopefully this one will be born round about my due date. My labours were all pretty quick as well, so hopefully a home birth will save me from giving birth in a taxi en-route to hospital.
