I thought it was 37 too - I wonder if different trusts can define it differently??

i had to go to hospital yesterday because bubs hadn't been moving and they were quite laid back about it, saying you;re full term anyway (37+2) , so we can get her out if there's anything untoaward happening in there!!! It's probably hospital policy about how far gone you have to be to use pool, everthing i've been told and read says that after 37 weeks your baby will be no longer classed as prem...

i think there's confusion about the counting. If we're 37 weeks and Xdays then we're in teh 38th week of pregnancy.
In the same way that when we're 5 days pregnant we're in week 1.

My baby was born at 37 weeks and 5 days (so in week 3 and was just perfect.

I was told 38 weeks by the midwifes at the hospital and said if id have been any early id have had to stay in for a few days and all my books say 38 weeks too but my midwife here which is a different area from last time said 37 weeks so who knows a grey area i guess.

taken from my magazine

"a baby is considered premature if he is born before 37 weeks. But BLISS, the premature baby charity, breaks this down further and categorises 35-37 weeks as moderately premature, 29-34 weeks as very premature, and before 29 weeks as extremely premature!!"
