Ok..so, last time I recall complaining about my pains and discomforts and whatnot...
They say you KNOW when you're in labour..well, I didn't.
I had been suffering for days, I had an idea it was probably going to happen sooner than my expected due date.
However, Wednesday, Thursday of last week, the pains had gotten stronger and I was constantly looking up "How to know if you're in labour" posts, et cetera.
Then on Friday I was suffering with the same pains as the two previous days.
I read on one pregnancy site that 'true' labour pains didn't last more than 65 seconds.
SO, there I was suffering with terrible pains that weren't that regular and lasting way longer than 65 seconds..
GREAT.. uh?
Then all the sudden I stood up to fill up my 100th hot water bottle..and it was basically like I pee'd myself.
I actually thought I did. I had heard of women peeing themselves..it had never happened to me, but..heh..it's pregnancy.
After that I couldn't stop 'peeing', it was then I questioned if it was labour or not. BUT THE PAINS? The duration was still longer than 65 seconds and it wasn't that regular. Then all the sudden I got a mind blowing pain in my stomach and a lot of pressure.
I set off for the hospital at 3:20pm, get to the hospital...having to deal with the woman in reception in the emergency ward.. urgh, all the time still leaking...uhmm, attractive.
I get in the hospital bed..by this time it's 4:30pm.. I was 4cm's dialated.
The nurse asked on a scale from 1-10 how bad my pain was, and to be honest it wasn't that bad. Then 5:30pm came and she checked me, by this time I was 6cm's dialated..and OUCH!!
I was asked if I wanted an Epidural.."YES!!!"
I was told I had to wait for the doctor to come and check me, then he'd 'ok' me to have an Epidural... 6:40pm..ERM, HELLO? DOCTOR?!
I felt like pushing.. FINALLY he came and checked me.
"You're 7cm's dialated and the baby is coming FAST! You'll start pushing soon."
I felt like I wanted to push..and where is my Epidural?
"Oh,no..sorry. I can't give you an Epidural, now.. In fact I don't feel it would be good to issue anything at this point. One the baby's heartbeat will decrease, and it'll slow down the labour..It's just the case of pushing the baby out"
OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG.
Anyway, 7:22pm out comes our beautiful little girl. Weighing 6lbs 4oz, measuring at 19inches. Oh..and she was born July 4th (Independence Day).
She came out like a little rocket, too.. We couldn't be happier.
It's amazing to think she's a week tomorrow(Friday).
Everyone meet Kaida Mai.
