As some of you know oxsarahxo sadly lost her baby girl Jessica Charlotte Reay hours after giving birth. We are arranging a star to be named after Jessica and a lantern for her resting place from all of us. We also thought it would be nice to make a contribution to Sarah & Matt so they can use it towards flower arrangements, head stone or resting place arrangements. If you would like to contibute please PM me for details. I'm Currently Feeling: | Antental classes i have my antenatal class tomorrow. if i am honest i havnt really thought about labour, and any more beyond ' oh i have a bump'
Is there anything i should ask about or find out about - that i might not necessarily be told?
i dont have a midwife either so not getting much input - hence the ignorance of plodding along with the pregnancy.
thanks in advance for any advice |

| I had my first AN class last week. I had no idea what to expect but it was surprisingly helpful
At my class everyone was different in how much they knew or had thought about their birth. It was a nice informal envrionment and we talked about natural techniques as well as medication and what to take to hospital etc.
I bet you find questions will occur to you when you're there with other mums.
Hope you find it useful |

| I decided not to go to mine as i thought it would be a load of rubbish.
I got sent a programme in the post and it sounded a bit silly- 1 1/2 on breast feeding, i don't have a baby yet.
There was more time on me and other random subjects than pain relief plus my midwife is coming to mine tomorrow to do my birth plana nd go through all of that with me.
Hope i made the right decision but i wont no any different so...cant go wrong lol. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | i think Im going more so for the social element!! And for my OH to hear etc!! Ive read so many books and obviously have all you guys so Im pretty sure theres nothing they tell me that I wont all ready know!!
However I think it will be good to actually see some demonstrations on what happens whilst in labour (with a dummy obviously)!!
Ill update though when Ive had my first one.... might have changed my mind haha!! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I have been doing the NCT Antenatal classes since i was 29wks it's on a Tuesday night from 19:45-21:45 and the last one is next week and to be honest i've read pretty much every book you can have on pregnancy, routines, first year so far and have tried to get hubby involved along the way by buiying him guy guides and stuff but i didn't think he had been paying much attention so that's why i thought we should pay for the classes as i didn't want to be trying to depend on him through labour and him needing me to explain things anyway we have found them brill as you only have around 7 couples and it's really informal with lots of tea/biscuits and loads of interacting with the information also we done a girls day last friday which was good to ask all the questions that you didn't want to ask with the lads there ie perineal massage how to do it etc and also you are with a group of people that are going through the same as you at slightly different stages so you can see the changes every week with bump sizes who is looking tired etc and the folder you get to take home with all the handouts will definatley be coming to hospital with me as it's got so many useful positions for laboour in it that i'm sure i would forget. So for us it's been brilliant i don't think the free ones at the hospital would have been so good for us as there was only two of them and it probably would have been information overkill although staying up late for this one is slightly trying.I would definatley reccomend them x |
