updated Growth Scan...36 wk

So baby has been growing at an alarming rate again.....app bump should measure 1cm for every week your pregnant,,,,at 34 i was 36 cm..now at 36wk i am 40cm!!!!! Thats a BIG baby......so off for a growth scan cept they can't fit me in for a week....then they will consider options of early delivery and whether I'll be able to deliver baby myself...(prolly not, they say)...has anyone else experienced this????

Just curious...not stressing too much, just means i'll see baby earlier than expected.

DIDN'T MAKE GROWTH SCAN.....MY WATERS BROKE 11PM ....I GAVE BIRTH 2 HOURS AFTER SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT GROWTH SCAN
WILL POST BIRTH STORY IN RELEVENT SECTION.....

I HAVE A BABY GIRL......................AND THE BIRTH WAS A BREEZE.....I'M SOOOOOOOOOOOOO LUCKY AFTER ALL THE WORRYING!!!
BABY OLIVIA WAS 3 DAYS PREMATURE BUT IS FINE.....(36=4)

I haven't experienced this. But even though it's a big baby it doesn't necesserily mean that you won't be able to deliver by yourself.
The doctors are on it so don't worry! xxx

Try not to worry too much, experience has taught me that the scan measurements aren't always accurate...
With my second baby, just 4 weeks before she was due they were concerned she wasn't big enough, I had to go for a scan every week there after until the birth. At the last scan, 3 days before she was born, her predicted weight was just 2.5lbs and they were convinced something must be wrong.
She was born weighing a very healthy 6lb9oz and was the longest baby I have ever seen!
All that worry was for nothing, but I guess they just like to be sure and make every effort possible to check yours and babies health. But it goes to show that those scans arent always 100% accurate.

Fingers crossed your baby won't be too much of a big un, my boyfriends mum had 5 babies all weighing 10lbs+ and she was only 5ft2 and they all popped out au naturel, so it can be done!

They did actually say, that bigger babies are better to deliver naturally as they help themselves through birth as well as mum. My friend had an IVF baby, born 5lb 15....she was told he'd be a very small baby and went twice a week for growth scans......he was born c sec...as in distress during labor.....goes to show you never can tell

Thanks again
