| What pain relief are you having through labour? Ok, so it may be afew weeks to early! but im starting to think about pain relief through labour and was just interested to see what everyone else is planning to do!
Im planning to start with entonox (gas and air) but if things get too bad then i guess ill go for an epidural.
One thing i wont be having is pethidine, because i dont want babe to be really sleepy when he arrives.
Does anyone have any experiences with these options?
Also is everyone doing a birth plan?
Thanks ladies xx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | not sure, whatever feels right at the time...if the pool's free in there for a bit. rather have pethidine over the epi...i think...(if the gas and air doesn't do the trick) |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Gas and air - dont want pethadine as it can have an effect on baby and some need antidote - dont want more chemicals in bubs than needed.
No epidural - my friend is a physio for woman and she has told me horric stories of the damage you can have - you cant feel what they are doing - tugging etc - and dont really want forscepts used
Thinking gonna try with minimal pain relief - my best type - stressing at the husband and blaming him!!!! that should occupy me | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Well i went in to labour with my first thinking id have this au natural birth but after an hour of contractions with this drip to make me contract properly i was screaming for an epidural. At first i used the tens machine whilst bouncing on a ball and then i had gas and air which made me feel completely sick and didnt take the pain off at all. I was abit gutted i didnt have the au natural birth i wanted so this time im going in totally open minded although i dont think id like pethadine. |
