I'm Currently Feeling: | Saw my midwife yesterday and it is confirmed they are Braxton Hicks. It is rare, but they can be incredibly painful in some women. Trust me to be one of the minority. The bad news for me is that I'm 40 weeks now, due yesterday, suffering from these intense BHs and baby is not even engaged! OMG! I must have been a wicked person in a former life. | | | | Status: Offline

You may begin to feel increased pressure in your lower abdomen and notice that your baby is gradually dropping. This is called lightening or engagement and your lungs and stomach will finally get a chance to stretch a bit, so breathing and eating become easier. However, walking may become increasingly uncomfortable - some women even say it feels as if the baby is going to fall out. (Don't worry, it can't happen.) You may feel as if you need to go for a wee all the time however. Practising your pelvic floor exercises can help.
Hope that helps give you reassurance. | Hmmmmmm, just read this and I have been having the feeling that baby is going to drop out for about a week. I am only in my 32nd week! Does this mean she will be early? Is it normal to feel this before 36 weeks? Thank God I am seeing my MW on Mon!!! |
