Ok so update....

i was at the hospital this week and asked the midwife about the whole movement thing, well she didn't really know (she was new ) but that perhaps worked in my favour because she got the snior midwife to come in, check me over and talk to me. My bubs is fine apparently arund 27-29 weeks lil one quitens down, she'd heard many people query it. She didn't really have an answer as to why, she thought perhaps its because bubs is still establishing a pattern which becomes regular at 30 weeks +. She said to count 10 movemnts in a day, as you ladies suggested, so i asked her to explain this. Basically its 10 single movements. if i get four kicks in a few seconds then thats counted as 4 times. She also said that if theres been no movement or less than 10 kicks in any 32 hour period to ring them and they can monitor you (a cpt monitor or soemthing. Can't quite remember what she called it but when you go in for an hour and they wire you up to a machine that records the heartbeat). Hope that helps to clear it up if anyone else is wondering/confused.

we ended up at the hospital yesterday, because i rang my MW about change in baby's movements...

she said she wasn't interested in how many times she usually moves in a one hour period etc, carrying her you jsut know if the 'pattern' is different. any change in pattern gets investigated at hospital. they took bloods and monitored baby until the movements were deemed ok. baby then resumed her 'normal' pattern!!!

so if you feel that things have changed you can get it checked out just in case. She also said a common misconception is that babies reduce their movements in the latter stages, due to lack of room, she said she's lost a few babies recently because of this...they should kep to their established pattern...(my 'pattern' was broken mainly because she always has hiccups twice a day...and she hadn't for two days..)

Today my doctor told me I should be feeling 4 movements an hour, which doesn't work with my baby's pattern cause she'll usually have a couple hours of no movement at all and then she'll be active. Because of this I'm trying not to worry and go with the 10 movements a day and pattern rule, because she really has been a lazy little thing all along. If your worried about her not moving try lying on your left side and drinking a cold drink and poke at the baby and rub your tummy and if there is still no movement call/go in just to be on the safe side.
