No definite answer. Babe can engage and pop back out, so it doesn'y really give an indication. I think if babe really well and truly settles in there for labor, it may trigger slight dilation, and thus you may start losing your plug... but again, this can come away, and then 're-plug' itself.... Sorry !!

ive been having it for weeks too.

maybe TMI,
but we BD last night and was wondering if that would trigger labor but im guessing it would only if baby is ready.
after we BD i had realy bad scratchy feelings down there.

its a horrible feeling but i dont mind as i know its baby heading south.

Mrs N...does it feel like it could be your cervix that's itchy? I went out shopping today and had to stop walking a couple of times cos the scratchy pain hurt so bad. It isn't around my vagina I know that....it isn't an external itch at all....feels as though the baby is digging its way out through my cervix.
Is this the same as your pain? Do you have any more idea what it is? Is it safe or should I mention it to midwife?

its hard to explain but yes i think this is the same as the pain im getting.
i think its perfectly normal but it wouldnt hurt to mention it to midwife but im sure it isnt anything to worry about.
