I'm Currently Feeling: | 20 week scan accuracy !! Hiya everyone
Was just wondering what you all thought on this subject and if any of you have any concerns about getting the sex wrong??
Basically i had my 20 week scan and was told i was having a girl. The sonographer seemed really certain but i didnt believe her, i made her check a few times so she was sure lol. But still now i still have a feeling shes likely to have got it wrong so i havent bought anything pink. Am i being silly and should i believe her or do i wait until ive got my pink bundle in my arms before i start buying all pink things??
I keep hearing stories about ppl that have been told they are having one sex and end up with the other which i guess isnt helping. I would go for a private scan but in the middle of buying another car so not really possible at the moment.
Has anyone else got concerns about it or am i being silly lol?? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I don't have that concern, we saw quite clearly on our scan that there were no boy parts. And we have bought a lot of pink. If by some strange happenstance my little girl turns out to be a little boy we'll still be thrilled--we'll just have to go shopping again |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Before we went for the scan i had a look on the net at pics of girls and boys on scans so i knew the difference myself. I have to say there was 3 white lines to say that she was a girl. Maybe its just me being silly. I guess ive heard so many stories about ppl getting it wrong that i have it in my head that it will happen to me to. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Ema, the tech is able to see by the bone structure of the pelvis too, I had my scan at almost 20 weeks and we could see quite clearly that it was a girl.
Technology is always evolving though, scans are even better now then 5 years ago. I think they are pretty accurate. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I found out at 12 weeks, and 20 weeks that I'm having a girl. I think the sonographers are very wary to tell you the sex unless they are pretty certain, as there have been a few cases of hospitals being sued when getting it wrong. So I'd go for it !!!! Congrats on your PINK bump |

| I doubt the sonographer too and have been sticking to buying white and cream clothes. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | My sonographer was very reluctant to tell us the sex and all she would say is there is def something sticking out!! For that reason i have bought gender neutral stuff. It also a bonus that 2 of my SILs have recently had boys so i am covered anyway. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I've been told twice he's a boy and been shown his bits but I didn't have a clue what I was being shown. Although my family have still been buying blue bits. I'm a bit apprehensive though x | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Where I work we do Ultrasounds, so I asked the tech about it. She said most of the time they are right but they really dont like to make guesses intill 20-22 weeks because for some boys there testies dont drop til later. I have to say though, if your ultrasound technologist has been doing it awhile, they do know there stuff, and I wouldnt worry |
