Unhappy

34 week appt ... not such a milestone

Well i went for my milestone appointment this morning feeling really happy and excited but it all seemed to just go wrong. My blood pressure was slightly high but nothing to worry about i had a trace of protein and a trace of something else that are agen apparently nothing to worry about and then this new woman was measuring my bump (taking an awful long time about it) and i measured 32cm instead of 34cm agen the m/w sed nothing to worry about it can be 2cm below or above the gestation week. and then the silly woman couldn't find flumps heartbeat (she did after 5 mins thank god)
I just feel now like there is something wrong and im really scared i dnt want anything to go wrong.
Sorry for the rant i know there are people who defo have probs
x

Trace protein is fine... can just show that there was a bit of bacteria in the bottle, or even on the outside of the vagina... perfectly normal.
The other trace was probably just showing that you are slightly dehydrated... (keytones).

And the bloodpressure id expected to rise a bit in the last weeks, so again, nothing too much to worry about.

I would be inclined to just pop another wee sample down in few days, and if there is + protien, then get your blood pressure checked for reassurance.

It's a given to worry at this stage, you're not the only one, and we're all pretty good at calming each other down in here.

Congrats on 34 weeks !!! Not long to go before you meet bubs xx

Sorry your appointment didn't go well. Not sure about the blood pressure thing but as for the trace amount of protein in your urine I'd say not to worry about it too much. I've had a trace amount in my urine since week 17 but no signs of PE. I understand the worry of not finding a heart beat (went through this yesterday at my appointment) when the nurse told me she couldn't hear anything I about died. Luckily she did find the heartbeat a few minutes later. I'm sure everything is fine with your LO.

Aw, I know how dissapointing it can be to have a bad appointment. When I went yesterday they said LO hasn't grown in 3 weeks (was measured by a trainee last time who put me 3 weeks ahead and am spot on this time), my clotting levels aren't good and my iron levels are low. I was really sad and have been worrying ever since. Like you I'm sure there is nothing really wrong, but that nagging feeling just wont go away.

I'd definately pop back for another urine test, it takes them no time at all and should reassure you.
As for measuring bump, it seems a bit of an old fashion way to do things, it's so easy to be inaccurate when using a measuring tape and digging aound to find the top of your pubic bone, especially over clothes.

Anyway hun, I'm sure you are fine and fingers crossed this will all be a distant memory in 6 weeks
