water births


im planning on having a water birth at hospital but am just wondering

* does hubby have to come in the pool with me?

i havnt been told either way but i dont think he is too keen to come in with me, which i dont mind.

but does he have to come in with me? x x

Not at all. I'm hoping that the pool is free for me and in our hospital book it does say for dad to pack swim shorts in case he wants to come in! I'd love OH to get in with me, but it's a personal choice thing.

Im hoping for a water birth too and no he doesnt have to come in with you altho im going to make my OH come in with me lol thats just because i no he doesnt want to hahaha

oh thats good that he doesnt have to, i dont want him to feel forced to do it if he doesnt want to.

you should tell him that for you to have a water birth he has to come in with you!!! i no its evil but i bet his face will make u pee yourself lol

I wanted a water birth but all OH could say was 'yuck im not coming in it will be Ema Soup!!' so guess it will be a normal birth for me XXX

Mrs N; as you are due in middle of hottest part os summer your OH might have shorts on anyway...or tell him to pack shorts as labour ward is very very warm! lol

hey hun Ive opted for a waterbirth and hubby is defo coming in with me the pool is huge Ive already packed his swimming trunks but Ive seen many men on you tube outside the pool holding there partners Im just praying the pool is free the midwifes have said that many women dont opt to use it I justhope they opt not to use it when Im in labour take care and hope it all goes well for you

we were told at antenatal classes that partners weren't allowed in the pool with you because of the risk of infection or something or other. I guess places differ though.
