I'm Currently Feeling: | Is this very early stages of labour (Update Pg 2) I have been having what I think are braxton hicks contractions for a few weeks now. But over the last couple of days I have felt really tired all day to the point where I can feel my whole body relaxing and had more pressure pains especially when walking, which is really uncomfortable.
Last night I went to bed and kept wakening up with what feels like slight cramps in my stomach but they are not painful. I have also been sick and keep having an urge to go to the toilet, even when I dont need to go. Now also have lower backache which comes and goes and just dont feel right at all (if you know what I mean).
Is this a sign something is happening and I could be having baby soon (I am 37+4). My partners mother seems to think I am in early labour and I have had 2 other people say the same.
Does anyone know what the very early stages of labour feels like?
I had very quick labours with my 3 boys and slept through the first stage of labour (had them all early morning) by the time I realised I was in labour I was already 8cm dilated with my oldest and youngest sons and with my second son I just made it to hospital as he was born 20 mins after I woke up.
Tried phoning my midwife but got no answer so left a message asking her to phone me back on my mobile as soon as she gets the message. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Sounds like it could be. Every labor is different but you are nearly full term. I've been having early labor signs for days but nothing consistent yet. Hope your midwife calls you back soon. You should probably be checked since you had such quick labors before. Good luck! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | My early stages of labour felt like period pains that came every 15 or 20 minutes. If you can't get hold of your midwife can you call the delivery suite and tell them that your previous labours have all been very quick?
Good luck! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I have been similar this past week and was wondering the same, I've been having the lower back pain, period like cramps, pressure down below, and the clear out! I asked my MW if she thought this could be signs of labour approaching and she was like 'oh could be'! Thanks! great help lol |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thank you for all your replies.
Still having pains which are getting slightly stonger and lasting a little longer.
Tried phoning midwife again but still no answer so phoned Labour Ward. They think I might be in very early labour, but its still too early to go to hospital. If the pains get any worse or my waters break etc I have to phone back and they will arrange for me to go straight in to be checked over.
The midwife I spoke to seems to think I have hours to go yet but then again I was told with my second son I was NOT in labour by a midwife on the labour ward, who then went off to get me toast and a cup of tea and when she got back I had already delivered my son.
Will keep you all updated. |
