| Had gas and air with my first two and went natural for Noah, not going to lie, it will hurt but if you work with your body and listen to the midwife, the pain will not be as bad.
try to stay as upright as possible, gravity helps the baby descend. When the baby crowns, breathe through the pain, during this you will stretch to accomodate and baby will wriggle to get him/herself in a position to be born.
hope it all goes well xxx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Personally, I would never go natural again. It was a horrific experience. It might be different for others depending on how the baby is coming out. The epidural is my friend this time! Good luck to all of you ladies going natural. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I wanted a natural birth, but couldn't deal with it so after 4 hours had a spinal block...which only worked for an hour. Then a few hours later the new anesthesiologist came and tried again...that epidural worked for only an hour as well. So, though I ended up wanting drugs, for all intents and purposes, I didn't get them! I know that it HURT. I was begging my DH to make it stop hurting, so much so that I made him cry. I kept saying I couldn't do it, begging everyone to make it stop. Ya know what though...it's been two weeks and I would totally do it again, even with as sick as I was during/after pregnancy and with the pain of the natural child birth...she's so more than worth it. Good luck! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Sorry for gatecrashing your post ladies, but this is all I have thought about the last few weeks.
i had the epidural with my first 2 but this time I really want to go natural. But was unsure how painful its going to be, I know I can cope with the contractions. Its the baby coming out and the contractions towards the end.
But then I suffered back ache for ages after the epidural and i was just getting back to normal( nearly 6 years later) and I don't want to suffer with a bad back any more so really want to try. I might have the gas and air and see how I get on.
Just want to say thank you to all of you for sharing your stories. i think i will def try and just have the gas and air.
Luv Cheryl xxx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | i had nothing when i had my 1st (tried gas and air but just made me sleepy and sick, hated it.) and to be honest had a much better experience than i did with my 2nd. It all depends on you really and how high your pain threshold is.
dont totally rule out drugs tho, you may really need them. |

Yeah i used to be, but the closer I get to it, the more excited I am. Whats a few hours of pain for a lifetime of love? And especially since starting to get into hypnobirthing, the fear is leaving me more and more. |
