Then as the first stitch went in I screamed really loudly & he instantly went quiet. I don't think I screamed in labour though. Stitches were worse. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | it all depends...everyone is different. but im not gonna lie...ITS VERY PAINFULL!!!!
i gave birth to my daughter totally naturally but it was unexpected. i was told numerous times that the epi was on its way but the docs were just lieing! it wasnt ava for me.
so ofcourse, i was very tense, upset and totally not incontroll. and my daughter was back to back so that made things 10times more painfull.
on the up side of it tho, i healed so much better than when i was induced with my son. was only bleeding for a week!!
im having a homebirth with this baby, so again, totally natural but this time i know what im in for. hopefully it will be easier to handle the pain and i will be less tense and be able to control myself ( to a certain point!)
as its your first, i would advise that you have baby in hosp so if you do get half way through and decide that you can no longer handle the pain, the relief is there for you.

| With my daughter I had a TENS (only needed it no setting 3 out of machine and gas and air, tbh I used the gas and air at the begininng of a contraction and it made my mouth so dry I'd take it out but carry on with that pattern of breating, and the breathing, focussing and concentration helped me soooo much! I think I delt with the pain really well and hope I do again this time!
I think its all about your attitude towards birth if your looking forward to it, and not scared then your not as tense ect and its not as painful, with my first people kept saying are you scared about the birth expecting me to say yes terrified, I was like no, Im actually looking forward to experiencing what it is like!
Its the most natural amazing thing a womans body can do! its nothing to be afraid of and we can all do it! You feel so damn proud of yourself afterwards aswell!!!!
(Amy'smum Im hoping for a homebirth too, have you made any plans for it yet ?) |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Yes it hurts!!!! I had a natural birth (water birth and gas and air) Itīs difficult to explain, I went into my own little world , you just tend to concentrate and get on with it. The more relaxed you are about the birth, the easier it should be. I have to go completely natual this time as they donīt have gas and air in Spain!!!! Oh well, donīt fancy the idea of having any other pain relief so Iīll just have to get on with it. Just focus on the end result and youīll be fine xxxxx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I would rather go through the pain now and have it over and done with once bub has come out than deal with it afterwards when I have a crying baby to look after. I know that my mum suffers back pains from having epidurals. I don't want that later in life. Besides, if I educate myself and be as prepared as posible on whats happening to my body and work with it then it'll go easier. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | i had gas and air with brendan and it never really did anything for the pain but the mouth piece was fab to bite on when having a contraction but i did cut my mouth a little lol, it just seemed to make me feel a little bit tired, im hoping to do the same with this little baby just have gas and air, yes it hurts but all labour is different for everyone so dont feel bad if you do opt for pain releif xxx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | everyone asks if i'm going to have c-section. i said " NO ". Why should I ? I don't have any problem with myself or baby,so i'm going for natural birth. I'm not scared of anything. I'm more excited about this pregnancy and giving birth experience. | | | | Status: Offline
